I am in the process of building a house and want a wood burning fireplace. I plan on buying the fire box and exhaust pipe then having my builder frame it in. I will then bring in a brick guy and brick around the firebox to the ceiling.

Those of you that have built a house, any of you do this? Where did you get the firebox/fireplace from?

I have 2 I never use.

S.O. also would get upset because of birds. It gets cold again I'm having a fire though.

Woodburners in baton rouge on Airline Highway. Make sure to run a gas pipe in it so you have a lazy man's fire source to start your fires.

Ask your builder. Why are you having to coordinate all that?

very inefficient leftover from a bygone era.

having said that, nothing like curling up in front of a roaring fire on a cold night so IDGAF if its a needless relic.

serious recommendation:

get a wood burning fireplace but a get a gas starter underneath it

my inlaws have one of these and it makes life much easier when they want to light it up

Do you also want to chop wood, shovel out ash, get rid of bird nests, fricking clean soot, etc.?

no dickhead, they couldn't put a fireplace in my trailer because it would go up like the fricking 4th of july. When we want warmth we all just get naked and sleep next to each other.
