I was told she was a victim's aunt. I'm pretty sure vast majority of fallen soldiers' mothers collapse when they get that news. We just see these womens' reaction to losing a child so often because of media coverage of rampant black-on-black crime.

Baton Rouge police responded Saturday night to a double homicide a couple blocks north of Government Street.

Oh nice. Right where they want to put light rail stations.

I'm not sure if they realize it doesn't have to be this way. There is a proven recipe for a good, safe, productive American life and it works like 98% of the time. It's not a secret. It's there for the taking.

I can not imaging the HORROR of seeing a loved one lying in a grotesque death pose on the front steps of your own home, and not moving heaven and earth to make sure a similar fate never befell another person you loved.

A lot of people aren't going to like hearing this, but in the end, a huge percentage of the people in those photos are more invested in maintaining the status quo, then they are in changing it. So it will only continue.

Not even a few blocks from this shooting.

There must still be some confederate flags flying in BR somewhere. I thought all of this was about to end once the flags came down.

Do you expect them to be laughing and applauding?

WAFB is reporting that the police think the shots were fired from a passing vehicle. It's amazing that they didn't hit any of those little kids.

BTW, if you Google Brice Street Shooting, you'll find that this street has had its share of shooting deaths in the last few years. I think there have been 3 other incidents, including that boxer Emanuel Augustus who was found dead there last year.

I feel like I remember Augustus dying after life saving measures were made, not that he was DOA.

I'll take meth in LP over thugs in BR all day errrrr day.

Not me. I'm not afraid of minorities and get along with people of all races and class sets very well.

I do not however, feel comfortable around 5 day insomniac hallucinating zombies who would kill their grandmother and rob their mother.

Sorry, you're right, he was found shot in the head but didn't die.

My point was that for such a short stretch of a street, it's a really bad place to be or live around.

99% of the people who post here (including minorities) wouldn't want to spend a day in the "hood."

You'd last about an hour in the hood before changing how "tolerant" you are.

I only frequent these areas on Google Street View.

Whoever owns the house on Brice and Government really likes lions.

It's actually two houses both painted the same and covered with those weird lions. That place gives me the creeps. Some weird silence of the lambs type shite goes down over there guaranteed.
