As far as I can make out the Russian army is bigger and better equipped now than at the beginning of the war.
Isn’t that the opposite of “being attrited”?
A country at war will obviously have a bigger military than the same country at peace. This has no bearing on whether the country was punished and attrited during the war. The US had 458,000 military personnel in 1940. In 1944 the US had over 12 million, and in 1948 the US had less than one million military personnel.
That Russia has been attrited can be determined by the facts that it could not give aid to Assad when he desperately needed it; they cannot help Iran now; they were unable to assist Venezuela; and they will be unable to assist Cuba when that time comes. All of these countries are not falling, or on the brink, just coincidentally.

Have to agree w the facts of the above post but I thought attrited had a different definition.

It’s my Ukraine flag that has kept them in the fight!

Russia is a regional power not a global power. Their economy is tiny and their army is not willing to die at minutes notice like in the past. They thought this would be a quick removal and take over. The first resistance they faced they retreated and then occupied areas where there already was a Russia presence. They won't admit it but they have a ton of dead and their ranks are not motivated. Big reason why you see them cowardly launching missiles at schools and hospitals from a distance. Deep down Putin wants to pull out but knows he can't because he has to save face.

Compare and contrast with how quickly we just vanquished Venezuela. I never want to hear anyone say that Russia is a major threat to either the US or NATO ever again.
Did you forget about Afghanistan?

You seriously think the Ukrainian Army is bigger and better now?
You seriously think they're having 40k+ desertions per month?
Please, tell us more about how we are all brainwashed shills.

Don’t think there is evidence that the Russian army has been attrited.
If that’s why you “think”, then thinking isn’t your strong suit.
Russia is indeed pulling out old T-55s to fight
I know your grasp on matters of a military nature is very limited as evidenced by you thinking that the fact thy have 15% more men in uniform now than at the start of the war is somehow evidence they’re not being attritted. But the fact they’re resorting to sending T-55s into battle, a tank that was first introduced right after the Korean War, shows that they have exhausted the greater part of their once massive array of armored vehicles.
Imagine the US in a war against Mexico, we’re three years into it and now we’re pulling tanks likes this…
(This is an M46, a contemporary of the T-55)
… out of storage to send to the front. That’s basically what Russia has been doing for some time now.

We conquered Afghanistan easily.
We managed the occupation very poorly.

That article is almost 2 years old. What is their overall strength now?

Imagine how bad it was if the EU wasn't buying O&G from them.
The EU is a joke.
