Putin Orders National Mask Mandate As Coronavirus Cases Spike

Under the new mandate, effective Wednesday, masks will be mandatory in crowded public spaces, such as public transportation, parking lots and elevators, according to the order published on the website for the federal health watchdog agency Rospotrebnadzor, also known as the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing.
The department has also banned all entertainment activities, including bars and restaurants, between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. It recommended strengthening safety protocols on public transport, taxis, shops, restaurants and theaters.

I though they had rolled out a vaccine there. If so, it must not be working.
He will soon learn what all other places with mask mandates are discovering: They don't work. In fact, I am starting to wonder if the masks don't help spread more cases. I am actually surprised because I thought widespread mask use would make a big difference. It hasn't happened. Maybe there is a reason all the Scandanavian countries haven't gone this route.

So all bars/restaurants can be open between these times? Russia more free than Louisiana

Because not everyone is wearing a mask? That just seems like the logical response, but I read.. I think on the CDC website, that the mask does not eliminate the risk, it decreases the risk.

Without even touching on the efficacy of masks for your point to be valid everyone or almost everyone in those states would have to be complying and properly wearing masks. Given the low compliance in most areas, the data set is useless.
