Puppy issue question

So I have a new dog, he’s a little less than a year old now. I’ve got an issue I can’t seem to resolve.
He licks my older dog whenever no one is around. And mainly around his ears. It’s already cost me money to bring my older dog to get his ears cleaned due to yeast build up because of the moisture build up. At least that’s what the vet told me. Every time I catch him, he’s redirected. But he still does it when I’m not around. He knows not to do it because when I come in the room, he takes off and my older dogs general area around his ears are wet.
Anyone ever have to deal with this? I want to go the bitter spray route but I’m not sure if that’s good for my older dog.
Any suggestions/experience?

I had a similar issue with cats. The younger tomcat liked to lick the older tomcat. Older tomcat didn't like it. I gave the older tomcat a bath with flea shampoo and the licking stopped.

Unless he's individually sensitive to it, I don't think it would be harmful to dab on just a little bit of the bitter spray on the older dog to deter the licker.

Kennel train it and separate them when you are not around.
Mine is kennel trained to sleep inside at night. When she comes inside during the day she makes her way to her kennel pretty quick. She whined a few days as a new puppy, but she likes it now and voluntarily goes and lays in it with the door open if nothing exciting is going on.

This sounds like me when I was 14 but not the licking ears part.

Its not the puppies fault- Its the chronic yeast otitis in the older dogs ears that the puppy is trying to clean out. LSU vet derm used to teach "ears and rears" for food allergies (ear and anal gland infections). Your other dog sounds like it has infected ears and the puppy is merely trying to help clean them.
and the pet food industry is a racket

This! 100% Also, please realize that puppies and young dogs take work (especially depending on their breed). Be patient. Best wishes!

Others have already said it but I was going to post that there's likely a reason the one dog is licking the others ears. It sounds like he's trying to help.
