Figured this better for the OT so it catches the general public.

A lot of expert engineering and science, including professional athlete and exercise expert input, went into designing equipment. Use it as intended. DONT OVERTHINK IT!

If you’re over 30 and not an elite athlete, don’t think outside the box. Do your workout as designed and move on. Don’t camp out on a piece of equipment. Your rest should be no longer than your set.

If using the dumbbell area, the benches/seats are not there for you to rest your 200lb gym bag.

DO NOT utilize the squat racks for anything other than heavy, compound movements.

If you see my water bottle on the weight bench, do not move it. I’ll be back in a bit to finish my set.

Pro Gym Tip:

Use the mirrors to check out women there.

They’ll never notice.

Is it ok if I use my iPhone in-between sets?

Currently reading this message while camped out at a squat rack. If you’re the guy with the yellow spandex that keeps looking over here, please stop.. its getting creepy.

Damn, someone really pissed you off. This is the second thread you've posted some comments about usage of gym equipment in.

You know there's other equipment you can utilize to workout your legs on. You don’t always have to use the squat rack, so you can stare at yourself in the mirror. You can also be one of those hard gym bros and set up your tripod for your phone camera.

That said, I get your frustration, but don't let it ruin your whole day. You can switch up your routine a little until the rack opens up.

January was always the worst. Garage gym ftw!

Also, if you don't know how something works or how to do something then man up and ask someone. Could save you from injury, embarrassment, or both...although we all like watching those YT videos.

I’m gonna end up dead in a Planet Fitness parking lot for getting shitty over dudes doing power sets. Planet Fitness is not a real gym, do not try to do real workout things.

On a side note, Megan Thee Stallion is now their spokesperson, which makes me concerned over damp seats there.

I'm not a fitness expert or anything but that doesn't sound right at all. Don't sit there and read your phone for 10 minutes but don't speed lift either.

Not much worse than gym people complaining each January.

Yeah that’s BS especially if doing something with some decent weight. Nothing wrong with a minute or 2 rest.
