So you'd be fine with Hitler Statues in Germany?
Erwin Rommel is still revered in Germany. They have military bases named after him.
And lets not compare Davis to the guy who engaged in industrialized murder of 6 million people and lit the world on fire. That just childish and dishonest.

That's sad to see. I bet that fatty couldn't tell you anything about the person on who's statue she's standing. This is what bothers me the most about this. We have an ignorant movement seeking to destroy things the don't understand and they're being allowed to do it.

Ah, you're a troll. Hard to tell on here these days.

No sense in arguing with these guys. All these long winded posts about pride and respect are the death rattle, as they don't help prevent the removal of these statues.
The irony of the unite the right protest in Virginia, is that it more than likely only sped up the process of the removal of confederate statues

Do you think history has changed because a statue is gone?
No and it isn't going to dig up the people that were actually slaves. Just a way for people that have nothing to pride themselves on to try and "belong" or "have purpose." They want all things associated with slavery removed but display as much hate and aggression as anyone. Anyone on a far left/right edge is a fool.

Here is something i don't understand, why are there so many Confederate Statues??? They weren't Heroes
The Northern States don't have General Grant/Northern Generals statues in every Major City.
Even former Union territory is littered with Confederate statues.
Maryland & Kentucky werent CSA states & the majority of the populace wanted nothing to do with Confederates.
Maryland -67,000 Union war volunteers to 22,00 CSA
Kentucky -75,000 Union war volunteers to 25-35,000 CSA
Despite that 4 Confederate Statues are in Baltimore & only 1 Union & Kentucky also has more Confederate monuments than Union.
It seems to be some type of losers or guilt complex over the war & attempt to reclaim White Supremacy.
No Union statues are littered throughout even Union territory let alone CSA.

Yeah, I know you don't like having rational or courteous discussions.

You're probably right. It's a shame that they're willing to destroy things they don't understand and are unwilling to contextualize. The problem is that this is just the beginning of what's going to be a new scorched earth policy on anything deemed offensive. The mob will only get bigger.

Unfortunately, that's probably true as well.

There are Union graveyards all over the south and there are very few Confederate graveyards.

Robert Byrd would at least have a change of heart regarding race in the 1980's.
As did Strom in the 70's when he pushed MLK Jr to be a federal holiday, or when he was the only Senator with an African American on his support staff.
A large portion of Dixiecrats moving over doesn't absolve the Democrats of anything. If you followed the political career of Thurmond and Byrd you would realize that the to were similar on socio views, but split on views of the role of government. Attempting to split the parties on a single issue is asinine when two of the leading politicians on both sides of the aisle hold the same opinion. It's made even more obtuse when the one who has a change of heart first is the one being cited as the "racist one" from the "racist party."

Someone is a shitty alter because they don't agree with you that it's fine to have statues of traitors of the USA?

I actually find that weirder. They are still Germany. If America loses a war, do we have to wipe out our history? Does England have statues or monuments or busts of King George III (i know we tore one down here in 1776).

Got to get a pot shot in, before you agree with me on both of my points
Now, go run along and gather some upvotes from all the other anti-liberals in a Gary thread

Jesus fricking Christ.
All these snowflakes unlawfully removing statues needs to get a grip on life and reality.
Since when does a fricking statue hurt anyone's feelings especially when none of them fricking assholes know the first thing about slavery or being a fricking slave? Bunch of fricking pussies in this country now.
Get the frick over it. I don't care what kind of statue it is or of whom or what. If you don't like it then don't fricking look at it. If you don't like what it stands for then don't look at it. If you don't like the history behind it then don't fricking look at it.
Guess what snowflake taking them down will not change the history of this country, period. If you don't like the history of this country then get the frick out along with your feelings because it's never going to change. Go live in the middle east and see if they give a flying frick about your feelings.
Let me guess next they will want to remove the statue of George Washington and destroy his grave also because he own slaves at one point too?
