One of these cases will reach the SCOTUS within the next 5 years. Hell, depending on how hard Naquin and Moore want to battle, this could climb the ladder.

The simple answer is no, they should not be granted access.

Contempt of court is better than a homicide conviction.

Can't the judge find you guilty of contempt from the bench and just keep your arse in jail until you comply?

Are you against it fundamentally or do you see it differently than them being able to access your car or house through a warrant. I'm just not sure I can buy the self incriminating thing because you can have self incriminating shite in your house, which they can obviously search through a warrant.

They will break down a door to access my house if I don't give them the key. If I don't give them the key to my phone, let them break in.

If we're going to apply the same thinking, let's apply the same thinking.

your phone will erase all the data after 10 failed passcode attempts.

Thats what my phone is set too. I could make it less if I wanted to, but 10 works fine.

Was wondering....what if someone else knows the code? Like a gf or friend you told once to check something out on your phone?

So how many types of passwords and combos are there? if it's the generic 4 digit or whatever, just have someone go through every code til they find it, no?

try that on your phone and see what happens

Well good to know....little late now after this thread, and how it can be used over a code. So sticking to code for sure.

I got a fujitsu laptop in like '06 with fingerprint access, and never set that up due to being freaked out about that. Ha. I'm not a bad person or have anything to "hide" (typically what people say with "they dont care about you"). I'm just a private person, and feel idiots that "have nothing to hide" have given away to much privacy that I get weary about how far it's gotten...."just in case".

So seems you get into this kind of stuff...can you recommend site that will give me solid basic instructions on how to "de-google" an android device, and other privacy options? Not looking to read thru stuff on how the gov is bad, but I dont trust "big data" companies either. Just want to know how too. Thanks.

all 2016 or prior. not saying he isn't a good lawyer, but he may have stretched himself too thin between Pope, this kid, the Clerk of Court in Iberia, and Matassa in Ascension.

Guy kinda convicted himself. Admitted to distracted driving while eating, just not with a phone.

Yes. If not pedophiles will make their phones vaults for child pornography.

Dude probably isn't hiding anything incriminating, his search history is just fricking weird.

I’d rather just say frick it I’m guilty than them looking through my search history

No shocked conscious, no care.

Government has probable cause to enter and look for evidence.
