See, I was thinking the opposite. Cali is automatically Dem as it stands. But when split, you could at least possibly get those default Dem votes to be anything else.

It would make since. Two states could be made out of Florida. Split it right above Tampa Bay. The further south you go in Florida, the more diverse it gets. The makeup of Miami is completely different than Jacksonville.
Makes sense. Let’s split Louisiana too since New Orleans and Shreveport are nothing alike. Better split Texas too since van horn is nothing like houston. Let’s just split every state since they all have different parts.
And there we have it, the 138 stars of the US flag.

Ehh, there are parts of Cali that are pro-GOP. The population centers aren't though.
I was in Newport for a wedding at Pelican Hill and some residents were telling me that everyone around there that wasn't an athlete was a republican. Those rich, non-celebrities don't like their taxes either.

Conservatives seem to be all in for this, but based on demographics you would probably gain one or two Republican Senators for four or five Democrats.

So you understand my point?

This has about as much chance of passing as Chris does of winning Dancing With the Stars.

If this passes (which it won't) I'm investing in a flag making company. How in the world will we add 2 stars to the flag?

Since we're discussing the topic of states splitting up (One can dream):

The number of electoral votes a state gets is based on the number of US Senators and members of the House of Representatives. Each state gets 2 Senators, so changing from 1 state to 3 would provide 4 more Senators.
The overall number of members of the House of Representatives is fixed, and is divided among the states based on population.

Louisiana is shitty all over. I don’t know why one part of it tries to act better than the other.

Democrats would gain in the Senate, lose in the House, and lose in the electoral college.
Depending on how it was split, the Senate could be a wash. Sacramento isn't as liberal leftist as people believe. It just happens to be the capital, where everyone sends their looney left to legislate.
The red/blue map of Cali looks much like the red/blue map of the country as a whole. Lots of red, with the population/indoctrination centers blue.

Because one part is shitty with a very interesting culture and excellent food.
The other part is just Arkansas without the Ozarks.

they wont but what it will do is give california 4 more senate seats to take control of the senate to impeach trump, that is all this thing is about. every state gets 2 senate seats so if cali has 2 more calis then they gain 4 new senate seats

I'm not shitting on north LA. It's a fact that the cultures are vastly different and that some parts of this state (Like any other state in the union) are better than others. Venture into Morehouse, Union or Franklin parish. You'll think you were dropped back in time.
