That would be pretty fricking sweet. How many tens of thousands of dollars is that one priced at?

Solid thread. Lots of nice watches here.

That Stowa is awesome Gaston. What a beautiful watch. I have gone on record saying I usually like "busy" watches, but I love that and me be looking into one later on.
Let me ask you about switching bands: Do you have a kit and do that yourself? Or are certain watches just easy to switch the bands out on?

NATO straps only take a few seconds to switch around. It's all one piece, so it just slides onto the watch. I'm pretty sure that is what he is using, and it is pretty much exclusively what I have been using. Zulu bands work the same way.
For normal straps two piece I think that there is a cheap tool that you can get to pop off the spring bar. I think that metal bracelets work the same way. I haven't really had any personal experience dealing with changing either of these on my own though.

Most are held on by spring bars, as are clasps and some links. Very easy with the tool. The NATO bands come off easier as you just thread them through the spring bars. Underneath metal bracelets there are little access doors that flip up.
More expensive setups like Blancpain have unique tools, but I'd image at $15k they'd provide that. IDK though.

As we speak I am trading my ulysse nardin maxi marine for a breitling chrono matic 44 and cash.
. Love my UN but won't wear it anymore for some reason. Hope I don't regret this one.
Btw, Gaston def has the bug I had about 2 years or so ago. Its a terrible bug to have and a really pricey one too.

I am obsessed with the IWCs too. There is something about the simplicity that attracts me, although I have a fairly busy Citizen now that I like a lot. I am just not sure about spending 3-5k on a brand which the vast majority of people have never heard of and looks plain to the casual observer. I worry I might be able to get a better bang for my buck with another brand, I just don't know which one.

Lol. We need to hook up sometime. You still live on the plantation?

This makes it cooler. It adds some exclusivity to it. You would know that you have quality on your wrist, but it just goes right over the heads of the ignorant masses.

There are little flip up doors that expose the ends if the spring bars, it's simple. Third picture in that link you posted shows them. I wouldn't do it with a knife though, people scratch up their lugs that way.
Doors down on the top and bottom, but you can see the spring bar ends.

that's how my ulysse nardin is. No one has a clue what it is or how much it is worth.

You sure we don't already know each other?
