I work in medical research, and it’s said almost religiously. These are a bunch of bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD-toting folks. I presume it’s to make the word sound more science-y.

I have no beef with “PRO-CESS”— that seems to be how the Canadians and Brits roll. But I say “PRAH-CESS” like a gd American.
