Damn. That looks like standard suicide by cop.

What a coward.

The cop is a coward?
What video were you watching?

The officers asked 10 or so times to drop the knife. Why didn't they?

I personally don't think they did. Logic dictates that they would have used them if they did.

As an aside, would "Is that what they was?" be acceptable English or should "were" be used even though this is one person we're talking about?

"They" is a plural pronoun, the correct gender-neutral term is "it" but the snowflakes consider that crude because "it" can also mean inanimate objects.

This is the kind of bullshite that happens when people try to advocate transgenderism as being "okay" and "normal" instead of a mental illness.

I'm not quite sure how anyone can interpret that as me calling the cop a coward

I fully support and appreciate the efforts of the police department but I think this was a mistake. Training needs to be put in place for officers so that they are given the option to administer a non-lethal shot… like the leg. There was more than enough time in that video to put one in his thigh before the shot to the torso. He never seemed to fully charge either of the officers. If he were however running full steam waving a knife then all bets are off… Drop him like a bag of dirt. Just my two cents.

you ever seen what a bullet will do tissue just shooting someone in the thigh, not to mention the whole femoral artery that run through there. The kid would have died a much slower and painful death.

That's a good way for the cop to end up dead. The perp was wielding a deadly weapon and the police responded accordingly.

A "multi-tool" with the blade not folded out is a "pair of pliers", if I had shot the guy in the same situation I would be indicted for at least manslaughter, and would have a hard time convincing a jury the pliers were a deadly weapon.

A multi tool, in the positioned it was photographed at the scene, also looks a lot like a switchblade.

The cops thought he has a knife (which he did), told him repeatedly to drop it and stop advancing, and shot him when he complied with neither.

Usually GPR is all over these local stories. They are being quiet on this other than to report Toynbee happened.

The person who called it in also said that "they" had a gun as well.

That's why I advocate the addition on more K--9 units. A good ole German Shepard doesn't really care about your race, gender, or sexuality. Most folks can't wait to go to jail after being taken down by a K-9.

Same situation? Unless the guy was chasing you, you could've removed yourself from that situation. The cops cannot just run away. They have to confront the threat.

I never want to be "that guy" but after watching the video I wonder why they couldn't just have tazered the shite out of him.
