Yesterday, I spoke with CEOs from major retailers Walmart and Target — and leading freight movers FedEx and UPS.
They’ve assured me that shelves will be well-stocked in stores this holiday season.
Holy shite, gonna be a lot of sad Christmas mornings. But the only thing a lot of people that make all decisions based on emotion understand is pain. And those people are going to get some pain. The problem is so is everyone else that wasn’t a complete dipshit.

The problem with this...most people want to stay home and suckle at the gov't teet. They figure they can make just as much money doing that versus getting a job.

Haven't heard much blame thrown at Trump by the Democrats. At least, not as much as I'd expect. You know they're cooking up something, though.

I've worked for the judicial system and I've seen what truck drivers take home and I was shocked how poorly they are paid in many instances. COVID has showed how poorly paid folks who we as a country depend upon for necessities. The cashier at your local grocery; the guy at the fast food place, the waiter/waitress at your favorite restaurant, etc. These folks have been poorly paid forever, now that there is a shortage of workers, it's time to appreciate the work they do. Most big businesses have raised wages and some have started providing benefits. We're all going to pay more, but Americans will have more to contribute to our economy. This is a good thing for our country. Every full time worker should earn a livable wage. PERIOD.

This is such a upper class waspy thing to say.
Do you not realize you just said EVERYONE will pay more? Even the people you claim you are helping
Inflation hurts the poor the most. The costs of more expensive truck drivers is just passed onto consumers you fricking moron.
It’s not a living wage when the cost of everything goes up more than your wages go up.

People probably would be able to make a living on low wages if inflation wouldn't be crushing them.
But a "Living wage" is a myth. There are no standards for it.

For real, lol.
The cashier! That can be replaced with self checkout or technology that bypasses checkout altogether.
The fast food worker! That can be replaced with a robot or kiosk.
The waiter! At Disney, you order in the app and pick it up yourself. It's not that hard.
When a job literally requires ZERO experience to do the job. As in, day one you are doing THE JOB, that is not a skilled job that commands high wages. When your job can be automated, you better hope the automation is more expensive than your wage. A $30k cashier? A $30k fry cook? Danger. Danger.
Making low wages sucks. But that's what happens when you don't bring anything to the table.

Society treats transportation workers like shite for the last 30 years, is shocked that people don't want those jobs anymore - next on Eyewitness News at 9.
Seriously though, look at what has happened to the trucking industry in the last decade -
1) electronic logging tracking your every move
2) constant regulations coming from dc
3) Ridiculous inspections fining the drivers for silly shite - $200 for clearance marker lights out, $350 per instance for logging off duty/sleeper birth incorrectly, etc etc
4) Low rates and higher expenses for owner operators
5) Truck stops charging 300-400% markup on common goods
6) Truck stops charging $20/night just to park
7) Truck stops taking out restaurants and leasing that space to fast food businesses
8) States closing rest areas
9) Increasingly unsafe driving from passenger cars
10) Less businesses (WalMarts) friendly to trucks so they can get food and supplies while on the road for weeks at a time
11) More and more trucking companies pushing lease purchases on drivers to stay employed - imagine having to agree to purchase the fryer at a 200% markup when going to work for McDonalds at your first job. This is what they're now pushing for the "opportunity" to get into the industry.
12) Warehouses not providing bathrooms for drivers when they're stuck there for multiple hours during loading/unloading
13) Lumpers. Warehouses hiring companies like Capstone logistics that charge $400 per trailer to get unloaded, that charge naturally gets passed to the drivers.
There's a lot more things that have gotten worse since I started driving semi's over a decade ago - very little has gotten better. It's not a complaint list - it's just my observations. The industry has become so riddled with corporate greed it's tough to find a company that will treat you like an employee and not a sack of meat sitting in a drivers seat just to turn miles. I thankfully made my way to a great company and get to avoid most of these problems, but for the vast majority of the industry - who is going to work and put up with all of this shite for a job making $60k/year? Very few. Things have to change, specifically corporate America has to go frick itself and start treating the employees/truckers better than this.

drivers who have been working all year and making BANK due to the hyperinflated rates on truckloads
Please explain why this is happening and how it seems to exist in a vacuum. They are the only ones getting an hyper inflated rate? Why? Shortage of truck drivers? Gas? I mean, you are implying they are making so much with no overhead and straight cash homie in their bank.
How is this so?

You can’t tell it at my company. There is so much shite in our warehouse that we have 5-6 weeks worth of inventory on hand with 10,000-12,000 pieces coming in nightly. (4-5 trucks a night)
