All Elite Wrestling

that's Lance Archer saying the line as Jake "The Snake" Roberts looks menacingly in the foreground

I knew it was Jake, but didn't know where it was from. It almost looks like a movie set.

So looking like a scary afternoon in DFW?

Just south of Dallas and get to play my favorite game today - do I pick up the kid early from daycare or risk doing it at the normal time in hail...

Expected rain hasnt really materialized over in Texas. Instability building to the south and pushing north, gonna get interesting once the dryline pushes closer.

Ok, Dallas has gotten some but it was thought to be quite a bit more widespread.

My worry with the whole system today and tomorrow is there won’t be convection early ahead of the main event to tamper down the instability

I want to see how this little section of the line plays out. HRRR and NAM have consistently shown a bowing segment with a noticeable RIJ comma. PDS soundings on both in the same general area. This is around 3pm.

HRRR:

NAMnst

Little different placement on the two, but both have been there for a few runs now.

Rear Inflow Jet. It can happen when a particular area of a line becomes a bowing segment. The northern most point of the segment takes on a comma head look and it can develop a Rear Inflow Notch on the backside of that part of the line. The winds wrap around the backside, increasing inflow. It can then develop what is called a Bookend Vortex. That is where a tornado can form. They're tricky and can catch you off guard.
