i think it is mocking Dave Portnoy (of the blog barstool Sports). He was complaining how he lost money on Black Friday and had an epic rant and meltdown back in November about his merchandise and all his woes.
Apparently some other Daves have gotten into the fun and picked up the hashtag and applied it to their first world problems. There is a lot of inside joking throughout all of it that I have read.
I have no idea how that would be related to the maps and such that you saw.
