Scary thought. We had our first this past year. We brought him to the ER at every time we felt necessary to. I hope all is well in your growing family. Trust the medical personnel. Prayers sent

I assume they have evaluated her for mastitis, right? It’s super common soon after birth, and it doesn’t matter if you breastfeed or not. I had it multiple times and always ran a 104 degree fever before the antibiotics kicked in.

Just thought I would share my experience in case it helps. Best of luck to your family.

Praying for your wife! Our daughter is 2 weeks old, so I can only imagine how she feels having this scare on top of recovery from childbirth + postpartum hormones. Take obscene amounts of pics and video of the new babe so she can enjoy them from the hospital. Keep us posted, hang in there.

Prayers sent. We had a scare with our first born and the hormones and lack of sleep associated with new babies and mommas always makes it worse. Communicate well. Remember you are on the same team.

My twin and I were born in 1958. My mother went septic. For one week my dad didn't know if any of us would live. My mom is 92. If they could save us back then, your wife has a damn good chance.

I had a similar experience myself after my c section around a year ago. Ended up in the ER then transported via ambulance to a larger hospital two weeks after kiddos birth. Stay strong! Will be praying.

They did, and it wasn’t mastitis. She is still pumping like a champ just in case it’s still viable. Thanks!
