Not sure to be honest haven't been to Beach since ealry June... I thought it was just a ingrown hair... but man was I wrong... u dont understand the shock you get when a routine late night ER visit for some Anitbiotcs and the Dr walks in room and says " based on your CT scan ... we are sending you by airmed to U of Penn lol

Update! They changed the dressing and no more dead tissue was found! Will still be in hosptial a few more days but the staff here at University of Pennsylvania Hospital have been so amazing! Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers ... only have a 13cm by 8cm cut and its only about 3 to 4 cm deep ... I got so fricking lucky this didnt reach my muscle tissue .. again thank you all

So I hear that the only people that need to worry about NF are the elderly or immune compromised. Do you fit either of these or are you just a normal healthy dude that almost lost a limb for no good reason?

These bacteria have mutated to the point now where they spread like wildfire regardless of age or immune status. Luck of the draw.

My old man had his leg cut off mid thigh. He got vibrio in the early 90’s from a cut on his foot that he went surf fishing with. Went fishing on Sunday, by Thursday morning they had to cut above the knee

He did have a weakened immune system due to meds he was on for his heart.

First prayers to you and it’s great to see you responding to the therapy . My son cut his calf to the bone on an oyster reef and I almost lost my mind worrying about him getting Vibrio in the huge mud pack wound . I’ve seen many cases were lots of adults didn’t make it after they turn septic, multi organ failure, and debridement day after day .
My sons leg healed perfectly. I pray you do the same
