Prayers need please (Update 6/3)

I believe firmly in the power of prayer.
Our next door neighbors have 4 kids (3 girls, 1 boy; boy is the youngest). The boy 11, is super close with my 12 y/o son and my 9 y/o son. He’s over at our house basically every day schedules allow. Blonde haired, blue eyed All American boy. Great athlete, even better kid.
He’s been having some weird symptoms over the past few weeks. They brought him in to OU Children’s ER earlier today and ran tests.
They found a cancerous tumor on his brain and are taking him in for surgery tomorrow.
The family/docs don’t know anything with regard to type, stage, etc. yet. I’m just asking for any and all to lift them up in prayer.
Love you guys. Hug your kiddos tonight.
Update 6/2:
Tumor is likely a Medulloblastoma
It does not appear to be attached to spine, but unclear if attached to cerebellum, and won’t know until in surgery.
They should be able to tell what type of cancer it is almost immediately after surgery, which will be Thursday or Friday. Pray it’s benign!
He will be in the hospital for 5 days post op with a drain, and will have another MRI after swelling subsides to determine all tumor was removed.
Chemo & radiation will be scheduled (3-15 mo) depending on biopsy results.
6/3 Update:
Surgery scheduled for Thurs morn.
Approx 12 hrs to complete. Exact start time tbd.
Prayer Requests from parents:
- They are meeting today with a Child Life Specialist to discuss how to talk through all of this with their son.
(1)Pray for their wisdom in what to say; gentleness with clarity in how to say it, and discernment on when to tell him. (2) And of course for him to understand both the reality of his current condition AND that the Creator of the universe, our GREAT & sovereign God, knows his name, loves him and will never leave him.
These last few are cont’d requests
- Continue praying the tumor is benign! And the surgeon is able to extract all of it without any damage to surrounding tissues.
- Pray he has no complications or physical limitations after the surgery
- discernment & care of all the physicians, nurses & staff interacting with boy and family
- Pray for rest, strength & comfort for family…and for the girls
- Praise God they have found the issue & there is a clear path forward for recovery!

Sent.
The parents are going to probably want to be at the hospital 24/7. Offer to look after and feed the older siblings next door.
Don’t forget about your own boys. They are going to be scared, worried, and confused as well.

That's horrible.
This was in 2021 but a friend of mine's sister in law went pick up her daughter from school as usual, one day but she has been complaining of a headache. She brought her to the doctor and the next day they were on a plane to St. Judes. Unfortunately it was in April and she passed that May, but I do know St. Judes is an amazing place. Anytime I see people donate to stupid things I am always thinking about how that could have gone to something much more important.
Hopefully this kid will overcome this. I hate seeing kids have to go through things like this.

Every parents worst nightmare, pray they get in there tomorrow and find it's isolated and are able to remove it.

I’ve had TWO cousins whose young boys went through this. One on each side. Luckily, both came out ok and remain healthy. Praying for the same to happen here.
