I believe firmly in the power of prayer.

Our next door neighbors have 4 kids (3 girls, 1 boy; boy is the youngest). The boy 11, is super close with my 12 y/o son and my 9 y/o son. He’s over at our house basically every day schedules allow. Blonde haired, blue eyed All American boy. Great athlete, even better kid.

He’s been having some weird symptoms over the past few weeks. They brought him in to OU Children’s ER earlier today and ran tests.

They found what is likely a cancerous tumor on his brain and are taking him in for surgery this week.

The family/docs don’t know anything with regard to type, stage, etc. yet. I’m just asking for any and all to lift them up in prayer.

Love you guys. Hug your kiddos tonight.

(6/6 Update):

Surgery seems to have gone pretty dang well! There were no complications. No blood loss, no blood transfusions, no issues with nerves or fluid loss. They did not have to put in a drain which is a big praise! The surgeon said that they got most if not all of the tumor!

The tumor was wrapped in the blood supply to the cerebellum. The danger with that is that it can lead to a complication called posterior fossa syndrome that affects coordination, speech, etc. Please pray that he will not be affected by it. We will not know for sure if he is dealing with that for 3-4 days.

He will be having an MRI on 6/6 to determine if they removed all of the tumo
r.

sending all the positive energy and good thoughts i can .......no child should deal with that, and no parent/family should see them suffer.

wish a speedy and full recovery for that young man

Sent.

The parents are going to probably want to be at the hospital 24/7. Offer to look after and feed the older siblings next door.

Don’t forget about your own boys. They are going to be scared, worried, and confused as well.

That's horrible.

This was in 2021 but a friend of mine's sister in law went pick up her daughter from school as usual, one day but she has been complaining of a headache. She brought her to the doctor and the next day they were on a plane to St. Judes. Unfortunately it was in April and she passed that May, but I do know St. Judes is an amazing place. Anytime I see people donate to stupid things I am always thinking about how that could have gone to something much more important.

Hopefully this kid will overcome this. I hate seeing kids have to go through things like this.

Every parents worst nightmare, pray they get in there tomorrow and find it's isolated and are able to remove it.

I’ve had TWO cousins whose young boys went through this. One on each side. Luckily, both came out ok and remain healthy. Praying for the same to happen here.
