Prayers sent you way for your whole family!! My son was 5 weeks premature after the doc told us post pregnancy that my wife would be lucky to get past week 22 due to some issues. She was on bedrest last 3 months and we just took it day to day with a positive unwavering outlook (in hindsight I feel like I should have been scared shitless but nature gives you that strength when you most need it). Son was born at 4 lbs and spent few weeks in NICU before finally being home.
Yall all gonna be just fine mate....them docs and nurses are miracle workers!!!

I'm not a usual poster, mainly just lurk and enjoy yalls wicked witty commentary, but I'm sitting here in a hospital room with my wife who is 26 weeks pregnant.
Unfortunately, she's not going to make it to 27. She was diagnosed with preeclampsia early this morning and will be delivering our baby girl Molly in the next 24 hours. Neither will be out of the woods for a while.
I'm not one to normally ask for prayers, but to those of yall that believe and even those of yall that dont, if you could please just keep this innocent baby girl and my beautiful wife in your thoughts.
I want to believe she's coming out a Tiger fan and just wants to get a jump start on Bama week. I can't wait to watch it with her and my wife next weekend as a family.
Holy sh**! Thats horrible. Prayers sent and hoping for the best.

My wife was diagnosed was preeclampsia as well...I never seen a woman in so much pain...there was absolutely nothing I could do to help her...the pain was so bad she couldn't sleep at night..she didn't know what it was until the 36th week..went to er 3 times and docs kept telling her it was nothing serious. Finally on the 4th trip to the er they realized her liver was failing and delivered our baby within hours...if she would have waited any longer she probably wouldn't be alive today. Thankfully my baby didn't have to spend time at the nicu...beat the minimum by a couple grams.
I truly hope everything goes well with your wife and baby and be just be there as much as possible...shes going to need the rest. I'm sure the medical staff will take great care of your family

My nephew was born very premature. He is almost 30 years old now and doing fine.
There have been a lot of medical advances since then.
As the hippies used to say in the 60's "Keep the faith!"

My mom was a premature baby when she was born back in 1942, back when that was not something that often led to a good outcome.
She's still as healthy as can be 73 years later.

A 26-week baby is in good shape in this day and age. The survival rate for those is in the 80s. If you make it to next week your odds go north of 90%.
In terms of a positive outcome you don't have a lot to worry about (and that's something I hope the doctors are making clear to your wife, since minimizing stress will help).

We have a blood test in a half hour. We're hoping for the same results as last time and hear that she can hold off on the inevitable delivery until tomorrow.
Thank y'all again so so so much. Your stories have brought my wife and I so much encouragement.
The prayers worked last go around, here's to them working this time too.
