They keep building all of these neighborhoods on these rural two lane roads.
We just elected Clint Cointment for Parish President. I fully believe he's the one that's best suited to tackle this insanity and develop some real infrastructure and upgrade our existing roads.
On top of that, he's promised to fix our drainage system and bring all the commercial real estate developers to heel and fix the zoning and planning commission.
Clint may or may not turn out to be a disappointment but the other guy in Murphy Painter is a piece of shite that was obviously going to follow Kenny Matassa's lead and stick with the status quo no matter what.

Maybe it’s the likeminded people that make it a dump. Look at Livingston Parish

Just a heads up. The Parish Council is your problem.
No one is voting to up their taxes so it will be a long time before the problems can be addressed.

Donaldsonville is the one blemish on an otherwise stellar parish. This year my son is going to a brand new elementary school (Bullion Primary); next year he'll be at a brand new middle school (Bluff Middle); when he starts HS he’ll be at a brand new high school (Prairieville High). All in one of the top districts in the state. Certainly not gonna find that in EBR.

I live in Manchac Place; I just moved in 4-5 mos. ago. So far, so good.

I like driving by there. The school's actually sitting on a...bluff.
Looks nice.

“Butthole” may be more accurate than you intended when you consider that AP has no public sewer infrastructure. Most everything runs on individual or regional treatment units that no one maintains (even though they’re supposed to), and all of it ends up in Manchac. Bernhard is trying to change that, but it’ll be decades before any real strides are made.

Driving into the place is depressing. It's like living in a fat girl who lost a little weight and can't figure out how to fricking dress. 300k homes next to trailers.
Pretty accurate. The area is in transition, but it’s trending in the right direction. My folks just downsized there to be close to my sister. They live in Parker Place. It’s a nice little hood, but hwy 42 is a nightmare.
I think in 10 years barring another economic disaster that area could be very nice with most of the trailer trash pushed out by investors

I’m just curious, what’s the draw to Prairieville?
I see nothing but a lot of cheap McMansions being built out there.
I’m guessing that’s Accession Parish, what is their attraction and where do they get money to support all the $30k millionaires?

Seems like the people that build these McMansions in PVille would rather trade a good kids education on a newly built cheap house.

EBR outpaced Chicago in 2017 on murders per capita. Baton Rouge population has decreased 1.3% from 2000-2017 (last census) The majority of that decrease has been white flight from the city due to crime.

Ascension has the highest median household income in the state from a parish wide standpoint.

What does that have to do with or with not getting shot?
