This is another thing I like. You don't find shopping carts sitting in parking spaces because people return them to get their quarter back.

Its vastly overrated.

I don't understand the hype.

Their choices are limited, but the quality is top notch( meats, fresh fruits and vegetables ,cheese and eggs) and the prices are very low. Plus you don't have the poor attitude employees who are pissed they are working as a cashierah. If you are trying to eat clean healthy food, it is close to whole food and about half the price.

It will be filled by the residents of that large apartment complex on the parish line. That area will be the AP hood in 20 years. They're already keeping me up with all the street racing at 3 AM.

Prairieville got an Aldi before New Orleans? Damn. I like Aldi. Wish I had one closer to me than Kenner

The sourdough everything but the bagel bread

Cheese selection is great

Fruit/berries

Frozen cherry berry blend for my smoothies

Nuts

I buy what I normally would buy at my local grocery store (I don’t grocery shop at Walmart) but it’s incredibly cheaper.

I’m not sure if I’d drive out of my way to one BUT it’s on my way home from work in another town so it’s super convenient.

I’d prefer Walmarts. They have everything Aldi offers except a cart-filled parking lot and fat people

There's no way you can do 95% of your grocery shopping at Aldi.

I mean that's not true, since that's exactly what I do almost every week. My weekly eating plan follows along this line.

Breakfast - oatmeal with fruit, protein pancakes, eggs (whole and whites)

Lunch - rice bowl with spring mix, protein, chopped fresh veggies, salsa

Dinner - protein, veggie/salad, whole grain of some kind

Snacks - string cheese, nuts, kefir, hummus, yogurt, berries, etc.

All of this I buy at Aldi. I'll make the occasional run to Rouses if I need some fresh seafood or whatever. Aldi's quality, for me, has been fine. Never had issues with freshness of meats, dairy, or veggies.

Also to add an Aldi is 5 minutes from my house, so that does play into me going there often.

Maybe if you are single. That wouldn't last in my house. I have 3 young kids
They would eat the fruit/nuts/eggs/yogurt and thats it
A family of 5 is not doing 95% of their grocery shopping at Aldi. I don't care who you ask, it's not happening

Manchac Lake Apartments just on the other side of the Allstar Ford dealership. Soon after they were built, I noticed a change in customers in Walmart and Winn Dixie.

My family of 4 does it every week. The only time I go to Rouses is if there is a good sale on some meat for the grill.

Ditto. It is hilarious to watch the OT ballers in this thread downvote Aldi.

I can't wait for it to open, and since it will be bigger than the one on Seigan, I have high hopes.

100%. The new store in Metry is terrific and my main stop for groceries.

Okay so we’re moving the goalposts.

Also what do your kids eat? Because I’m pretty sure Aldi has everything kids eat - from healthy food, to frozen food, to junk food

Thibodaux had one open up in 2023. Six months later, they had an Aldi on MLK in Houma.

The one in Houma is where Twin Peaks used to be and the one in Thibodaux is right behind the Chick-fil-A in what I consider a terrible location as it is not right on Canal Blvd.

I love the Thibodaux location. It’s off the main traffic areas. Can sneak in and out with less traffic. Fairly easy access from canal and st Patrick.

Plus that cut through to the civic center….
