to lessen the chance of a split pot?

I just can't get over the "downside" of this drawing.

IF you split the pot with someone, you'd still have a cash payout of $434M - the 2nd largest in US lottery history. However, the other winner would have effectively "costed" you $434M in additional cash.

Additionally, a current single winner in LA would have a federal tax bill of ~$343,728,000 and a state tax bill of ~$31,456,000.

What do you mean? I just want to see this money go to help people, and $5.1 million would certainly do that

The "downside" is a "what could have been scenario."

Wouldn't bother me one bit.

What's the difference if you buy the power play?

Considering it only enhances the non-jackpot numbers I'm sure it is a poor play. They don't voluntarily enhance the odds and/or expected value for anyone.

Oh, that is why I quoted downside. You'll still have a lot more money in the bank than you have right now, but those are some damn big hits on the other side.

Use the calculator on your smartphone or computer- put in 300,000,000 X 5,100,000= ? and then put in 300,000,000 X 5.10= ?

Please post which one is closer to 1,400,000,000

we will wait for it

Enough with this stupid arse talking point already. It's 2 freaking dollars and if you're like the average American, you're feeling superior posting that while you're at McDonald's stuffing your face with artery clogging Grade Z meat or shaking your head at the Powerball players while paying 5 bucks for a pack of cancer sticks.

If no one wins this one, we could get to another $2 million for all the Africans.

After taxes, $50 million to friends and family, $20 million to charity, and $50 million blown on land and toys, you will have $400 million left to work with.

So after setting yourself and your family up to not need anything ever again, you can invest the rest and make $1 million a month for the rest of your life without touching the 400.
