Would you purchase this...

LINK

Or This...

LINK

It seems like a much better value for the Porter Cable 4 tool set and I don't have any of the tools included in that kit. Not sure about quality. All I really need is a drill/driver but would definitely use a circular saw if I had one.

I'm open to other suggestions as well. Thanks

I have the porter cable drill and impact driver in the 20V lithium ion. I have had no issues out of it and they have a three year warranty on the batteries. Porter Cable is made by black and decker which is the same company that makes dewalt. If you are using these for general maintenance around the house, you will happy with the porter cable in my opinion. Dewalt does have more battery operated tools than the Dewalt so you can build a better collection off of that platform.

I have the porter cable set, but I would recommend getting the 6 piece set that comes with the impact driver along with the drill. That thing is awesome. Dewalt makes Porter Cable so they are very similar. Both owner by Black and Decker. Very Happy with my PG set, but strongly suggest getting the other drill

I would buy this one

and then and the other tools later.

Any drill or impact driver you purchase I would look for the ones with brushless motors.

There's a reason people in the industry use Dewalt. I've used Craftsman my whole life and have a set of 19.2 tools that I've used to great results for many years.

Dewalt is hands down better.

That combo set will last you a long, long time. I've got that same little impact and it's fantastic.

Pro's use corded drills for anything serious. For battery powered, either one of those is fine. I'd get the one with the tools you would use most.

FWIW I have a dewalt battery circular saw and use it all the time for very light duty. However, it isn't nearly as powerful as a corded circular saw, which you could pick up for $40-$50.

if you're not going to get saws in the kit, you don't need the 20v kit. i currently use dewalt 12v lithium ion drill and impact drivers. i also have the old 18v xrp set with drill, circ saw and recip saw. i previously had a 14.4v drill, but quit buying batteries for it. i do a lot of wood work and pretty substantial projects around the house, and i have been going smaller and lighter each time i replace something. i put a metal roof on my garage last year using the 12v impact. i had to change batteries every hour or so.(i work slow)

unless you're working construction, the weight of the bigger tools offsets almost all benefits you might get from going bigger. i learned that from Norm years ago.
