No, I didn't say there was any specific point. Can you give me an idea of what the point was?

Yep. You can only build statues and memorials for winners.

I'm still waiting on an intelligent response from you. You talk like you know the exact reason for removing the statues. Give us the reason.

Are you saying there was no point in removing the statues?

There was a point and it had nothing to do with people being healed or to cause less pain.

All about Mitch's political future.

No he didn't say that. But now that the statues are down, nobody else will be driven away by the offensive nature of the statues. It doesn't matter that you can't walk from your car to your door without being robbed/carjacked. Nor does it matter you can't find a job in the city if you are a young professional. It was those damn statues causing everyone to leave.

Im not saying his quote about people moving away wasn't ridiculous.

Im saying that ever since this has started, people keep acting like the point of removing the statue was going to end violence and im just looking for direct quotes of him saying that. Yea, 12 people got shot in 48 hours. That would have happened with or without statues.

Can you give me an example of a statue changing the outcome of a war? I don't think that's the point of memorials or statues.

Is there a decent mayoral candidate out there for the next election?

What's that weird rich guys name that is trying to clean up the French quarter? Do people want him?

One of the direct quotes From his press conference:

This is not about a nieve quest to solve all of our problems at once. This is however about showing the whole world that we as a city, that we as a people, are able to acknowledge, To understand, to reconcile, And more importantly choose a better future for ourselves making straight what has been put out and making right what was wrong. Otherwise we will continue to pay a price in this city through division and violence

exactly, yes.

yet you keep tying it to a motive that wasn't the reason for removing the statues in the first place.

Per Mitch and the like minded..."Lost Causes" are simply not worthy of remembrance.

The only way to reduce the crime is to rid the city of a percentage of a certain group. It's pretty simple actually...
