I’ve heard 5 in custody but that those were for questioning, not suspects.

Sadly, this story will fade. This young lady will still be dead. People will move on from this and that POS judge will still be letting out criminals.

There’s a press briefing at 2pm

And here’s an article with a pic of the girl killed :(
What a shame. So sad. So infuriating too.

Gunshots in the atrium where the food court is, echoing throughout the entire mall like that, I'm sure it would sound odd inside Dillards.

I'm usually pretty aware of my surroundings, but was distracted by whatever I was doing at that exact moment. I wasn't particularly focused on sounds outside of my direct environment, but given how far it was from me and the echoing it makes sense that it didn't immediately sound like shots popping off.

Dillard's emergency preparedness plan of action for something like this left a LOT to be desired. Couple of ER nurses were in the group and one was furious with the way it was handled.

I think I even heard someone on the intercom telling employees to get back to their departments before it was obvious that the threat was over. Sounded like employees were being told to go back to work. Mixed messages all over the place. LSP (strapped with Bushmasters (?)) were telling people to leave while being told by management to stay.

That's the typical Baton Rouge political method. Give it a couple of days and everything will settle down.

There are plenty of white trash folks in Idaho to fill that void. Still, a safer place than a large metro area like BR. Just stay away from Boise crime.

Make no mistake, Americans have not only allowed the criminal element to gain a foothold, but it can be argued that we've helped create the problem by being both soft on crime and soft on school disciplinary action - across the nation.

No amount of money, counseling, technology, or feel-good programs with catchy sounding acronyms will solve this.

Here’s the blueprint.

1. Zero tolerance. Increased sentencing guidelines across the board, and institute 3 strikes laws. This goes for juveniles too.

2. Build more prisons, and make them the most miserable places on Earth. Think CECOT. Don’t worry about the cost. Law abiding taxpayers will gladly chip in a little extra to get rid of the riff raff. Most of the people that will complain about this are either not paying taxes anyway, or running for office and trying to get the non-taxpayers vote.

3. Zero tolerance in schools. No more 20/30/40/50+ referrals, months of absences, or expulsion hearings ran by bleeding heart liberals who believe everyone can be saved. Get rid of those who refuse to follow the rules.

4. Stop incentivizing out of wedlock births. Let the women who pop out kids like a Vegas slot machine from multiple absent fathers know they won’t get a damn penny. Personal accountability - don’t bring a kid into this world if you can’t financially support it.

5. Drastically SLASH access to section 8 and EBT.

6. Mandatory birth control shots for anyone on government assistance.

7. If you're on government assistance, fine, we’re a compassionate nation and will help you. Sometimes bad things happen to good people through no fault of their own - but you won’t be casting a vote. It’s ridiculous to allow a political party to promise a group benefits and basically buy their vote.

A TikTok showed up on my FYP last night that had a picture of other guys. I have no way to confirm if it’s from the mall shooting or not but I haven’t seen it here. I also don’t know how to insert a picture from my phone but the user is @savannahheberthoppe and the picture was posted in the comments by Bayou_Chauvinist.

Dude, they used a photo from a shooting in Lenox FROM 6 YEARS AGO

Agreed, but even talking with some parents last night it’s amazing how clueless people are on how fast and how many people can be shot with a mag dump.
The poor girl shot could have been 50-100ft behind the intend target.

I’m sort of one of them. I’m just a mom. I don’t understand why every person shot had nothing to do with the so called “beef” and not one person shot did? If he was just a bad shot, at least ONE person he was arguing with would have been wounded, right?

I’m not arguing with you. I really just want to understand.

The carousel worker said (while being recorded live) that he spun around shooting randomly at anyone standing by him.

Sounds to me like he literally lost his temper and threw a fit with a gun? Like a toddler loses his temper in a high chair when he doesn’t get another cookie so throws his bowl of spaghetti all over the kitchen floor and wall.

I don’t think it was a PLANNED mass shooting. I think he has obviously always been a loose cannon.

kind of off topic:
There is a tik tok video of him with a group in lime green bandanas and him gesturing to a guy walking down the hall at school as if he’s shooting him. Are the green bandanas gang affiliated? There’s 5 of them all wearing them and kind of showing them to the camera. These kids in the tik tok videos are absolute cringe.

White people don't have time for that.

This is the problem. Self-government requires vigilance. We can't just vote and think that elected officials will do what we expect them to do. As we can see, that is dangerous.

Try shooting sometimes to understand. Go to a shooting range, hold a handgun without any sort of controlled grip or stance pointed at paper target at distance of 20 ft or more, and pull the trigger as fast as you can until the magazine is empty. You'll be surprised at how few if any rounds hit the target.

I’m just assuming based on the limited information I have seen. But if he was using a Glock with a switch, once he touched off the first round the gun just starts firing and sprays the area around it. He aimed at the group he wanted to shoot missed them and then just proceeded to mag dump in the general direction. Anyone to the side and behind the intended target is then hit as the gun recoils and continues to fire.
