1 thing i have noticed in the new porn flicks, is the shite is like hate sex.
dudes literally smack them in face, face screw their mouths, real hard, bang them hard, then jack hammer their mouths, making them gag.
And this was the top studios, with the top females.
That shite ain't good for anyone, but people with sick fantasies and sick thoughts.
If we're going to classify pornography as art (oddly enough, many individuals contest that pornography is defined as the absence of artistic value) because it's a visual medium, then it's evolution is directly linked with that of other forms of artistic expression.
As a society, we are constantly looking to push the envelope further and further. Particularly in the digital age, our culture is anything but complacent and seeks to constantly "progress", adapt, or change in some capacity. We're seeing it with the various social advocacy groups, and we've seen it previously with the evolution of modern music.
Things gradually become more extreme. Whether this is a byproduct of our culture or an influence is uncertain. Art imitates society and society imitates art.
Contemporary music, film, and everything in between has been pushed to the brink when compared with antiquated works of the past. It's hard to say if we're becoming more corrupt or more liberated. Are we shedding our Puritanical shackles or are we diving headfirst into the flames of debauchery?
I do believe that many individuals have become desensitized to certain violent actions, particularly in porn. Personally, I become repulsed by certain "sexual" acts and feel as though I am watching smut rather than an erotic work of cinema or an intimate encounter.

It's not like you're convincing the majority of your partners to choke on a gag ball or allow you to break the skin after beating them so viciously.
Ball gag yes.
And... Ropes. Cuffs. Nipple clamps. Toys. Plugs. Paddles. A brush. A cat of 9 tails. We have a toy box. I've had one since high school.
Also, I've never met a woman who didn't like red hand prints all over her arse for hours after.

it's a virtual certainty that internet porn has contributed greatly to the decline in sexual crimes
wow, are you serious? It is quite the opposite.
If the rate of forcible rapes has declined dramatically since the advent of free and readily available porn, how can you substantiate that the opposite is true?

You think sexual crimes have increased in the age of internet porn? I mean, one thing we know with certainty is that sex crimes have plummeted (along with almost all violent crime) in the past 20 years. I'm not saying the internet caused the drop, but it would be a particularly difficult claim to say that internet porn has caused increased sex crime in an age of plummeting overall sex crime.

I was going to bring Ted Bundy up earlier when it came to his thoughts on Porn.
