Do the police officers not need money? If you walk off the job you may not be paid. They could probably get away with refusing to do certain things or to respond to calls in certain areas.. at least for a while.
If they really wanted to be smart-asses they could just say they're not going to detain or arrest black people any more.

These people OBVIOUSLY hate both cops and the concept of law enforcement, they're rioting, looting, chanting "burn it down" and "frick the police".
So give them what they demand: no more police.
I wouldn't take that job if it were for 6 figures. No matter what you do, you're despised by a large portion of the community, even when you're trying to help them. If they want lawlessness and no police presence, give it to them, and let them sort it out themselves. And watch what the business community does...
Hint: they better learn to farm in a hurry.
