Salient input, you definitely live up to the latter half of your name.
This shoot may have been justified, but it certainly cannot be categorized as "necessary" now that all the facts are known. Not even the officers could argue that was necessary, only that it was justified given the circumstances.

You and he have spent page after page in here arguing with anyone who questions the cops shooing him after he was down. Not even once have either of you come close to admitting the shots on the ground were remotely questionable. At every turn you've argued in favor of the cops shooing him after he was down.
correct

But now you want to claim that you're saying it's not clear?
we are saying its not clear that he wasn't a threat
what are you having a hard time with?

What does that have to do with the video in this specific circumstance?
There is no guarantee this guy wasn't a threat just because he'd already been shot. Are you this dense in real life?

Unarmed doesn't make you not dangerous. Did I really have to tell you that?
And armed doesn't make you an threat on the officer's life either. The Minnesota situation is a good example. It will go down as an armed victim but it still could be a bad shooting.
That is besides the point though. They shot him because they thought he might have a gun. He didn't.

Compete and total horseshite. Course that's exactly what I've come to expect from you.

I'm officially done with you. You are impossible.

While this guy was asking for it, we shouldn't accept the continued policy of shoot first and sort it out later.
he was acting aggressive from the beginning
there is a difference with generally non compliance and someone acting aggressive

Insults instead of an actual argument. It's the only thing you can manage. Done with you too.
Enjoy the thread Salmon.

Says the guy who starts debates with insults. God you're pathetic.

Read the entire sentence. I'm talking about the statistics of armed vs. unarmed.

The guy had what looks like 3 guns at least on him. At some point it's the civilians job to need to comply for officer safety, can anyone argue that? If a cop has a gun on you you do exactly what they say or risk being shot. It is really that simple. You either sort it out in court or you get shot.
That last shot was questionable, but the guy that was shot was acting dangerous and questionable the whole time.
I have a wife and kids I want to go home to after work, if it was me in that situation and that jack wagon was on the ground making me question whether I'd see me daughter that night I'd pull the trigger too.

Aggressive in what way? He seemed to be under the influence and wanting the cops to shoot him but he didn't charge them, he didnt runaway. He was being a dickhead who seemed to have gotten what he wanted. I just dont accept the idea that one of them couldnt have attempted to taze him or gotten into a defensive position and talked to him. They went full bore before the stop even occurred as you can see the officer driving already has his weapon ready.
I fall back to the incident here in BR, They tried multiple tactics before they had to shoot.. In this instance, the gun was ready and the first option was shooting..

I wouldn't say he was aggressive from the beginning. Have you seen the CNN video? He just doesn't do anything exactly the way they told him. He gets out of the truck with both hands up and they flip out and tell him they didn't say to get out, so he gets back in. Then he eventually gets out again and it devolves into an aggressive non-compliance as he puts his hand behind his back and walks towards them. Then they shot him. So far, so good relatively speaking. We diverge after that though.

You can still reach for a gun while lying on the ground.
I pray that I never need the help of any of the pussies in this thread to defend my life.

Basically this. I'd like to see the full dash cam footage eventually because the original stop is shady at this point.
The call was about a man walking with a rifle. They were on the way and this guy turns in front of them and they decide to pursue him because he "appeared to speed away."

do we know what happened before the stop?

You can reach for a gun at any time, any where. That doesn't make every shooting justified.

In case you haven't seen this version: LINK
quote:
The chief said police originally responded to the area June 25 after a report of a man carrying a rifle while walking down the street. The two officers were riding together. One was a reserve officer.
They were stopped at a red light when a black pickup truck made a right turn onto the road in front of them and with screeching tires, appeared to speed away. The officers followed and after catching up to the truck, attempted to pull the vehicle over. The pickup driver kept going for another half mile.
The officer, Dyer said, began to suspect the driver was the man with a rifle call. He drew his handgun as he followed the pickup, just as it turned into a gas station and parked.
The entire dash cam is probably available but CNN just shows the initial contact with the vehicle, the turn into the gas station, and then the aftermath.
