do we know what happened before the stop?
Well I watched a video from the time he screeched his tires, to them running his plate to the time they shot him.. 4 plus minutes.. I dont really understand their reasoning for pulling him over but I digress on that. He did take a little long to pull over but apparently there were signs stating no parking on the side of the road. He seemed to be struggling with what he wanted to do..run or whatever.. The cops have guns out well before he pulls over.. It was strange to me..

In case you haven't seen this version
saw it this morning

They were stopped at a red light when a black pickup truck made a right turn onto the road in front of them and with screeching tires, appeared to speed away. The officers followed and after catching up to the truck, attempted to pull the vehicle over. The pickup driver kept going for another half mile.
The officer, Dyer said, began to suspect the driver was the man with a rifle call. He drew his handgun as he followed the pickup, just as it turned into a gas station and parked.
speeding, acting erratic, possibly weapon...I can see the reason to approach with weapons drawn
it wasn't like a typical traffic stop

Where was he speeding...

In what way does this guy match that suspect? That guy was walking with a rifle apparently.. I see no mention of a vehicle..
They made the decision to pull him over after he made the turn and sped down the road but they dont reference him speeding as he came to a stop ahead at a stop light..

Man, watching that I can't help but get the feeling that the last two shots had more to do with the fact that he was still alive and less to do with any perceived threat. Once they decided to shoot him twice, I think his death was the only thing that was going to satisfy their "fear".

Pretty much my exact thoughts as well.

yes

him screeching tires and speeding away made them think he was the suspect, then he didn't pull over immediately

that is fine
and I can understand your view, I just don't think I can say it was unjustified with the way he was acting beforehand

He sped away only to stop at the next light?

His actions beforehand necessitated them shooing him. But that doesn't it mean they can just execute him after he's down. I know you are of the opinion that his movements while down were threatening. I and others though take a different opinion.

after watching the video again, he had to have been high af
him speeding then stopping makes sense with how erratic he was acting
getting in and out of the vehicle, walking away then towards them, not sure what to do with his hands
then even when he was on the ground, he would put his hands up then move them back down to his shirt and pockets
the cops are pleading with him not to reach over and over and he keeps doing it
he either wanted to die or was so out of his mind he didn't know what he was doing

having an opinion is one thing
stating that he "clearly was not a threat" is another

I apologize for the confusion. I figured you were sharp enough to know anything I or anyone says on here regarding a matter like this is their opinion. The fact I described it in the manner I did does not change the fact it was my own opinion, all it meant is I was quite certain of my convictions on the matter.

you stated it as a fact, not an opinion, multiple times

Cyrus McInerney From my understanding (those who knew Dylan, and the situation, please, feel free to correct any false details. It's super messed up. He was playing around in his truck, doing burn outs in a field, typical country boy with his truck stuff. Police decided they wanted to pull him over. So he, (has a lifted truck, so can't really do traffic stops traditionally?) Instead of pulling over on the side of the road, went a few minutes down the road to a gas station, pulled in, got out of his truck. They already had guns trained on him (Read as: I doubt this was "accident,") he said something like " frick my life," or something, went to reach for his wallet, and instead of warning him, telling him to stop, or doing LITERALLY ANYTHING frickING ELSE(!!!!) They shot him several times. Then tried twisting details INSTANTLY saying that he was "obvious reaching for a gun," and shite like that. It's disgusting.

ummm....it's obvious from the video that isn't how it went down

Again, I assumed you were intelligent enough to realize I was giving my opinion. I apologize for assuming you'd realize as much.
For future reference, anytime we're discussing a subjective matter like this, please remember anything I or anyone says is simply their own opinion. It should go without saying or upsetting you.
The only time you'll see me actually talk in "factual" terms is when discussing things like established and accepted historic facts or similar matters.
I hope this clears up any misunderstanding or unfriendly feelings.

don't state things as fact if you are giving an opinion
this isn't difficult
