The law was written in a way that is defensible and understandable. Of course the police will abuse their power and push enforcement to the max and beyond.
Its amazing to me that they are surprised when the public mistrusts or even hates them.

Well, that 's not really what happened here. She should have known this was a possibility.
Like I said, I don't agree with the law and I think weed should be legal but she did commit a crime.

I file this under, "should have known better". Don't fricking drive around with illegal drugs in your car. It's pretty common sense.

Pot should be legal, much safer than liquor. We know know it's illegality was based on it's perceived untaxability. Now that we see states making millions taxing it, the prohibition should end soon.

Anything you materially used in the commission of a crime.
And then they only have to show you probably used it. That's on the assumption you hire a lawyer and fight it out in court, assuming they didn't seize those funds too
. They are under no obligation to give you counsel in court. Pretty scary to think you're a police report and a judge believing it away from losing anything you own.
There was a case in Philly last year about a father who lost his house because his son sold $40 of drugs out of it.

Forfeiture should only be used in the event of a criminal conviction in a court of law by a jury and an intelligent and college educated judge.

I see this as taking advantage of the poor.
