That’s a situation where cops need to be self aware of the situation. Wink and nod and say you are doing a search. Absolve hospital of liability and appease the nanny stater who called them.

Ive got quite the short attention span, so I didnt watch every second, but did they not find any "contraband"? If not, from a legal standpoint, although their refraining from citing the fella was sure sweet of them, with no substance to seize, send off to the lab, test and a return report issued confirming what said substance was/is....that case doesnt survive a pretrial motion to quash the bill of information. So their pontificating is all for not. Pardon if Ive missed some key info.

They certainly tend to lean toward arrest and/or seize your stuff and then "let the court sort it out."

This is so true. As a matter of fact I was picking up my new key to our "fishing club" earlier this morning from our black club president (95% of the club is black) and had this exact conversation with him.
My thinking is this: Don't hate the police, hate the politicians; the police are just the mouthpiece for the government. By default- and I'm making a blanket statement here- most blacks should be small government supporters; simply because if the fact that they (and I) hate the fact that the law KEEPING people of society, aka police, have so many laws in which to arrest us with. If you don't like laws and law keeping, then reason stands to suggest that you ought not be a big government advocate.
It's the politicians that are the problem. Every time the gavel falls on a new law/reg in Washington, a little bit more freedom and ease of our pursuit of happiness is stripped away. Their JOB is to make laws, and that ain't worth a f**k.
