BATON ROUGE - A Baton Rouge Police officer is recovering in the hospital after being injured in a shooting late Sunday.
The unidentified officer was shot by a suspect, who has also not been identified as of this post, while responding to reports the gunman had initially opened fire on family members. The gunman opened fire on the police officer as the officer drove up to the suspect's car on Lettsworth Street in the shadows of the I-10 overpass.
The officer is expected to recover.

The suspect is alive? You mean to tell me that the cops didn’t murder him on sight? I’ve been told that cops kill all suspects, especially one with guns. Can’t be right.

This year has been hell on cops so far. Eleven have been killed by gunfire as of today, with many more wounded. That doesn’t sound like much, but it’s 25% of the total killed my gunfire in all of 2017.
Domestics are, as always, leading the way. If only trashy fricks would shoot each other rather than the good guys coming to break up their immature argument.

The suspect is alive?

I wonder if he surrendered without any return fire. I wonder how many people know how often these people are given that opportunity. Of course, even when it’s on camera proving that they are given multiple chances to comply, it’s still seen as murder to the ignorant and those who benefit from a certain narrative.

And let's all hope Gary did a Facebook live event on the scene telling us he'll make sure this wasn't a case of the police over reacting. With the blue lights flashing across his face, of course. It's so real and authentic.

Apparently the officer was only struck by glass and not bullets. Looking at the pictures of his unit... that baw must’ve been a good man because someone wasn’t ready to take him home last night.

10... one of these was an incident from 94. Would be super dishonest to count that for 2018. So we are 2 over pace vs last year, which i believe was 2nd lowest in a half century.

Was the officer white or black?
OH WAIT, sorry, that doesn’t matter for police officers shot.
You know what does matter though? It matters how silently people breathe a collective sigh of relief that it wasn’t a black man shot by an officer. AND THAT is how you know you’re controlled by the lowest common denominators in life, when they control how we view these incidents these days. Rather than be outraged that a police officer was shot in the line of duty the way we used to view these things, we worry about how the lowest levels of criminal mischievous do nothings within the greater black population will see things and what kinds of criminal mischief might come about from it.

Broome will release a statement calling for more blight removal and Gravy won’t even mention it. The gingerbread twins may not say it, but I’d bet they’re upset the gunman wasn’t more accurate.

So when does Judge Trudy White let him go free?

Coppola said the officer suffered "severe" injuries, but he is expected to survive.

Something truly ironic that the incident occurred a block over from Education Street.

BRPD identified the suspect as Eugene Thomas Jr. I can’t find a Facebook for him, but he’s a convicted felon who shot up a car his mom and sibling were in so I’m sure he’s just another pillar of the community.

hope the cop has a full recovery

She won’t let that happen....
....but she’ll set bail ridiculously low.
Tree fiddy anyone?
