Wasn’t the female the one with the bob tail? I never looked close enough to determine their gender. I just wanted them to stick around because the finally eliminated our stray cat problem. I lived there for almost 15 years and strays were horrible until those 2 showed up on the scene.

That's funny. They basically lived in my house when I lived in the same place as Mikel. I loved them.
They were both boys. Bob was the one with the funny tail. He was not a very "pretty" cat, which is why I loved him. Falling out fur and whatnot
Sadly, I think they died. My friend still lives there and said Roscoe disappeared a long time ago, and Bob hasn't been spotted in a couple of years.

The other thing I’ve read, which they don’t mention, is that cats kill the most vulnerable bird populations (song birds). They aren’t killing nuisance birds like magpies.

Cats have their purpose.
My buddy worked at a sugar mill for a long time. They had tons of cats around to help keep the mice, rats, etc... under control.
