I just did a lot of research and bought a Winkbed, one up from the luxury firm, but not the firmest. Switched from a Tufts and Needles.

I usually am sore when I wake up. This bed is very firm, very comfortable, and no soreness. But I've only slept in it 3 nights.

They're running a really good sale right now, fwiw. I can tell you, it's made solid. It's a hybrid, coils at the bottom, then layers of on top. It sleeps cool.

Tempurpedic. But you have to dial in the foam density/firmness.

A good Sealy pillow top will eventually sag on you. But otherwise very little negative can be said.

Just say no to the torturepedic.
This is the best mattress I’ve ever slept on and it now lives at my house.

Had serta pillow top for near 15 years. Comfortable as can be but you sink in it and with a comforter on its like a heat cocoon.
Got a helix dusk lux this year and for me it's the perfect mix of firmnedd and comfort. You lay on the bed not in it. It's cool and once it softens up to your body it's all over but the cryin.

Mlily Fusion Deluxe hands down. Hybrid foam/spring with cooling knit fabric top that stays cool consistently. This was a game changer for me

We did a lot of research during the summer, looked at latex, memory foam, hybrids, etc. Our final decision was a memory foam with a cooling layer to reduce heat. We bought a Puffy along with pillows and bamboo sheets. We'd buy another one in a heartbeat. So comfortable and no pain in the back when we wake up. I also had no idea bamboo sheets were so good.
Who knew?

I bought one of the cooling foam mattresses off Amazon and it's the best one I've slept on. It's 8" thick and has held up pretty good, I think it's around 8yrs old.

Stearns & Foster "Carried Away" Ultra Firm / Queen
Purchased at Macy's in 2011
$1799.00

At the time (2011), I was suffering with sciatica and knew I needed to upgrade my mattress. I've barely suffered with my back since, and my wife (no pics) who doesn't have back issues, likes it as well. 10 years later, it's still heaven. Firm, but not hard.

Latex Bliss is the GOAT imo

And all of this is true
quote:

I've settled on latex foam - not memory foam. Best balance, but cons are heavy and expensive. Motion isolation (not 100% like memory foam, but about 85 to 90 percent), not hot like memory foam. Good support, minimal maintenance.

Just heavy.
especially the heavy part
