Good point

It’s really hard to financially justify owning a personal plane. It’s absolutely a luxury item. But then again chartering a jet isn’t really financially justifiable either.
No offense, but what are you talking about? EVERYTHING is justifiable, if you have the net worth to afford it.

Respectfully, this is the OT. If it is really close to home, get out. If you're trolling, well...

Awkward to say the least!

he would have turned 16 tomorrow. My ex principal/current friend, and well known person in our community daughter and grandson. All the while he is battling cancer with his wife by his side. Total tragedy!
T is indeed a fine man. This sucks.

So it sounds like really bad luck that they clipped a power line as they’d almost have been certain to make a safe emergency landing otherwise

Either way, this probably isn’t the thread to discuss the merits of owning a personal or corporate plane.

I know. And I didn’t take my own advice. My apologies OT

My point exactly. Who cares if it was his plane, his dad's, his companies, or a loaner.
A good man has lost his wife, son, 2 great employees, and a friend. I just can't fathom

I would like to apologize.... I didn’t mean to seem like an a-hole. My bad guys
Apology accepted brother since I quoted you and replied to your post. Yes, several of us knew the deceased and this tragedy hits home to the LSU family. Thanks for coming back and apologizing as it says a lot about your character as a good dude

People don't realize or choose to ignore or don't care that some of us had family or friends on that plane. TD can be great but sometimes bad.

He was my principal for a while too. Such a tragedy. I didn’t realize he had cancer. He was a great principal.

These are the type of things that make me think God isn’t real. From all accounts all the people that passed were great people. Why?

Without getting too much into religion, but wasn’t Jesus Christ a great person? Why?

I am sorry for the folks and their folks and anybody here who knew them. I bet they were probably feeling bad about reading about the Alabama girls, then 2 days later this.
The whole "if only you could turn back 15 seconds" thing for these things would drive me absolutely nuts replaying it in my head if it happened to someone I knew personally. I am sorry it happens to anybody.

No one knows the cause of this. People own planes. That’s a fact. It’s not for anyone to decide whether you should or what kind etc... pointless discussion. People lost lives and People lost loved ones in a tragic event. That’s what is important.
Steve Ensminger lost a DIL. None of us know what his son told him. This is probably still unreal to him. Anyone who judges his decision is an idiot. You can’t know unless you are in his shoes. I lost a loved one suddenly and had things I had to deal with at the time. I had to put my grief aside for a short while and deal with it a short time later. It was hard as hell but doing it allowed me to deal with everything.
A very close relative of mine lost his beloved niece and great nephew in this crash. His sister lost her daughter and grandson. They are devastated.
Please show respect and pray for strength among those who have lost loved ones.
