Haha I could actually do Iberville or WBR but I doubt I could sell the lady on those. She needs to be a little closer to civilization.

I’m leaning Walker area because it seems somewhat quiet and that new Juban development is nice. Good or bad idea?

The traffic on I-12 sucks depending on your work hours. It should fit your 45 min commute wishes though. We used to live off of Juban and took me about 45 min most days commuting to Essen Ln.

That area is growing pretty quickly. Houses aren't that expensive, schools are good and there's not much crime.

I'd recommend the Settlement at Willow Grove, on Perkins, close to the mall and shopping. Make her happy. if approx. 4,500 ft will meet your needs.

You can find nice houses for low to mid 200's in zachary and central. You can find that in some slightly further areas of baton rouge, too. Just depends if you want to buy a house with little updates needed or closer with some updates that can happen over time.

Central and Zachary are both fine too. Both are a little more expensive than Denham Springs or Walker.

Zachary is the furthest out from SBR. From DS/Walker or Central you can be in BR in 15 minutes on the weekends.

I'd look in Mid City, Capital Heights, Old Goodwood, Southdowns,Garden District if I didn't have kids.

Zachary or Central if I did.

Moving to Walker will cause you to lose your mind commuting to downtown BR.

Everybody I know who lives in Zachary loves it, but it feels SO far away the few times I've driven there. I prefer Prairieville for its proximity to the areas of BR I frequent.

The commute wouldn't be that bad to mid city. You'll be able to hop on I-110 which usually isn't terrible and get off near downtown.

This is the answer. Don't move to the burbs. Enjoy being engaged, newly married without children and a $10 or less uber ride to all of the great bars and restaurants in the general vicinity.

although it'd be nice to know your budget.....
