Extermination of the breed is the only answer. Spay/neuter the ones that are left and let it run its course.
I understand this is very insensitive to a lot. I just don't see any other solution. You cant count on the owners, they have proved time and time again to be irresponsible.

Pitbull owners should be charged harsher than the owners of other dogs involved in an attack.

I'm not a pit bull advocate but I encounter them with some regularity and have never seen one get aggressive in any form.
Of course, I hang out at dog parks attended by responsible people, at friends' houses, etc., not in shitty ghettoes south of I-20.

Spay/Neutering them isn't extermination. Its ridiculous to suggest we go around killing family pets. Yes, there are lots of a-hole pitbulls, but there are some that have done nothing wrong and haven't bothered anyone.
I agree they shouldn't be bred anymore.
