This was at the Reno air races a few yrs ago. Those planes do a grid type start where each row goes at a short interval. He was in the first row or 2 and had engine problem. Plane that hit him was a last row or 2. They have since changed the takeoff plan. Like when the F1 car stalls in grid the back marker isn't expecting a car there not moving.

Sucks you have to watch ads on worldstar now considering the entire page is one big advertisement

Tail dragger aircraft have nose high attitude and can not see directly in front while taxing or rolling down runway until they lift the rear wheel. In inline 2 seater tail dragger, the pilot sits behind passenger, further obscuring view.

Prop planes like that point slightly upwards while they get up to speed. Someone wasn't where they were supposed to be.

He stayed cool and immediately went to shutdown checklist.

Didn’t two commercial jets almost hit each other on the runway of major airport just a couple of days ago?

Makes me think of when I was at the 2020 Scott air show standing at the end of the runway with our group admiring a military hummer or something and some jackass came in way too hot, couldn’t break, and had to turn a hard 90 degrees and lay his plane down and force the landing gear to break to stop himself. He was headed directly for us and probably stopped 30-40’ short
One of my two near death experiences I think about randomly that absolutely would’ve ended me a few inches/seconds here or there.

other one?
Crossing st Charles and Julia street in New Orleans and having an E-350 speeding down the street and bump his horn at me. Thankfully I had my headphones out and heard him and took a step back probably 2 seconds before he would’ve annihilated me. He was probably going 40-50 and was hugging the curb. In a big van like that I’d have been toast.

Similar thing happened to me when I was a kid, family vacation in Destin, mom pulled me back, saved my life. Ever since then I have been hyper-cautious when crossing a street.
