For those wondering, they are putting block ice in a reefer. Before mechanical reefers they used ice. That one is being iced at a customer. In yards the had icing platforms where they could do strings of cars at once.

No, Jenny lives in Houston now. For years, when a new Columbia film was released she would get recognized by people on the street as the "Columbia Pictures Goddess".
Here is the shot most used by the artist. I got a kick out of the use of a yellow light bulb as the torch light. I wonder why they attached an extension cord if not lighting the bulb, but it's likely that the light from it screwed with the shot. I saw Kathy and her husband a couple weeks ago and that reminded me of this story.
I was unaware of the WWL-TV story. Thanks for posting the link. She looks incredible for a 49 year old woman there, huh?

I double posted, so thought I'd correct it by adding a photo of my dad from 1936. The kids had much better cowboy outfits to play in back in the early 1930s. Real leather chaps, a real Stetson made to size, and real six-shoo... Well, maybe the six-shooters weren't exactly real, but they were made of real metal and didn't have orange tips on the barrels.

Wild photo. (Are their other early Swamp photos at that same source?)
So...Philadelphia is already the US Capitol early on but *somebody* important decided to plop a Greek temple right in the middle of the Potomac swamp. And make it the site "The Capitol?
NOTHING about our "history" makes sense.
