A wedding article from the Jackson MS paper
Some googling turned up this was 1975, while he was born in 1958 and she in 1959. So presumably she was pregnant.
Curtis died in 2018: LINK
There is no mention of a wife in the obit, so I presume they were divorced. Apparently Janet still lives in the Jackson MS area.

He was born in ‘69, so he was probably 5 or 6 when that pic was taken..
