It was hard to "ugly up" those girls. The girl with the towel on her head is very attractive in other pictures.

Mary Ann Bevan, after her husband passed away and she had no one to support the family. She received the derogatory title of "ugliest woman in the world" and was employed by a circus. To raise her kids, she put up with the mockery. the early1900s
