Probably difficult if not impossible to package the centered exhaust with this design.

It may also help dissipate some of the heat in that area as well.

And Ferrari is “going back” to front engine/V12 a la the 812 Superfast and the GTC4Lusso.
They never left the front engine (now technically a mid-engine like many FR sports cars today) V12 arena. There was just a long time where their V12 cars were more GT oriented and didn't match the performance of the MR 8 cylinders.
As for center mounted grouped exhaust as already mentioned it is likely packaging. It can be done with mid-engine cars but usually, by dumping the headers into a near car width wide muffler which exhausts in the center, this option is neither compact nor light unless you use titanium etc.
I am curious how an upmarket Vette sells. I am pretty sure it will perform well, but I also bet it has an Achilles heel at least initially and if I had to bet it would be in the cooling area.

There were earlier reports of cooling problems. Seems like a mule caught on fire?

Interior quality is a pretty good bet, as usual. I’m very excited to see how it looks and performs though. 500 hp, naturally aspirated, mid engine, likely great chassis for 65-70k is pretty tempting.

I don't even think of that with Vettes any longer. Vette buyers have proven they will buy and love a Vette with the interior fit/finish/touch of a 1990's Nissan. I don't even remember what year it was (maybe early 2000s) GM offered an upscale interior option that they couldn't sell even it was a leap to call premium. The Vette is what it is a perfect cheap thrill but I always liked the idea of keeping the FR Vette and making the mid-engine a true halo car with a different name but that impacts the brand equity of Corvette and is likely poor business in their new SUV/Truck facing model.
ETA if anyone wants to watch the live reveal on 7/18 at 9:30 CDT here is the link:
