I shite you not, there were a few times when I was walking around yesterday that I said to myself, "God I'd give anything just to see an F14 right now, even if it was just a static display".

If you’re local head out to Veterans Park behind the Kenner city hall at the west end of W. Metairie Ave. There’s one there along with an A-4 Skyhawk.

P3?

C-130T from VR-54 in Belle Chasse. I flew several times to Sigonella in that airplane, once non-stop from Lages all the way home. P-3's are gone. They've been replaced by the P-8 Poseidon, a modified 737.

Does the guy who flies Fat Albert get to say he flies for the Blue Angels?

The entire crew for Fat Albert as well as the grounds crew, the maintenance team and the announcer are all members of the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration team and yes, they can all say they are a Blue Angel.
Also, the Fat Albert crew is always comprised of Marines as a show of Navy/Marine solidarity on the team.

In fact, the announcer that was narrating the show is a back up pilot for the demo planes and he flies Plane #7 to all the shows. Plane 7 was used yesterday when planes 1 and 2 had mechanical issues. The pilot from plane 1 took over plane 3 and the plane 3 pilot was driven back to the hanger to get plane 7 and he flew it as a part of a 3 plane diamond formation for the show.

Isn’t the fat Albert pilot a woman or used to be?

Also that pic with the Corsair in flight next to the F-35 is awesome

Amazing the technological leaps from the Wright Brothers to those WW2 fighters to modern fighters all in like 120 years.

That's something they've been doing at air shows the last 5 years or more, that I know of. They take an old plane and an active plane from one branch(or more) and do a "Legacy Flight" honoring the past and present veterans, fallen and active duty. This year the Corsair flew with the Navy F35 and the Air Force did a Legacy Flight as well but used two active duty planes although one has been in service much longer, the F16 and F35.

You know why that jet is buttoned up? Because the fricking FAIPs that flew it down from Columbus got too drunk in the FQ last night and were too hungover to show up and let people see a T-38.

As they should have been.

They absolutely should have been hungover. Nothing wrong with pushing it up on a cross country.

They also should have had their hungover asses at that jet. I've been at static displays when I didn't want to be. Hair of the dog helps.

I didn't even know what it was called. I just called it the passenger-plane looking military plane.

I was told by one of the people on board that it's a submarine hunter.
