20 is the standard speed for school zones. And scared between 8-9am and 3-4pm?

How do they find you? I mean the city is full of cars. Do they just have people going around scanning random people’s cars and some system and if they come up they boot them?

I’d be obscuring my license plate every time I parked

No. You’ll get 4-5 warnings and they’ll sound more and more aggressive and then they give up.

They can’t do shite. I throw them in the trashcan.

They have a van with camera tag readers on the top. They cruise the streets scanning tags on parked cars.

Put a picture of your dick in the payment envelope and send it to them. But seriously, the New Orleans City Council just approved an ordinance that raises the amount of tickets needed before a car gets booted. You have to have 3 unpaid tickets now to get the boot. This just happened a few weeks ago.

So why not just obscure your plate while it is parked?

If you live in Baton Rouge, definitely don't pay it. You would just be wasting your money because they can't even boot your car unless you come down here and get an additional two tickets now.

Pay it and be glad it was a camera and not a squad car cause you could've been hauled in.

It’s been about three years now, still occasionally get letters from collection agency. So far so good.

When you aren’t driving?

Just stick a reflective piece of plastic over it. Or swap it out with an old plate

There was an article in the Advocate a year or so back outlining why they legally can't do anything in BR. I guess Nola may have different local laws

Heard on the radio the other day that Florida's Supreme Court gave the green light to these camera tickets and specifically said use of a 3rd party was OK. What I don't know is, what happens if you wish to fight the ticket - if the 3rd party is in Arizona for example, does that party have to put someone in the court room to defend the ticket?

Yet they can't go after dudes on vehicles that are not street legal if they just speed away.

Keep fricking over the normal citizens for minor violations.

Thought about this, but you can get a ticket for having something covering it.

What’s crazy is the city of New Orleans is budgeting 6-8 million a year for revenues from these things. That means that if people don’t get tickets, the city is in the red by 6-8 million. Brilliant, Mitch!
