Phi Delt has nationally enforced dry housing. Reguardless of how it happened, a kid died because they let irresponsible drinking go on where it wasn't allowed to. They broke a national fraternity bylaw and a kid died because of it, so I would say yes it's fair that they all pay the price...

It was definitely hazing.

Either way, they shut down fraternities for reasons much much less than killing a kid. University administrators were not Greek and do not like Greeks. They tolerate them, at best.

Of course, I mean there really isn't anything worse a frat can do than kill a kid, which is pretty easy rule to follow

I cannot imagine how the parents must feel, but if

his mom called and threatened to contact nationals and LSU to report their bull shite if he wasn't allowed back in after being dropped.

is true, it would multiply her grief.

Apparently the pledge educator got charged with murder.

I didn't make it up. I heard it from a couple friends that are still in Greek life at LSU. They told me on the day it happened so their info may have been wrong. That's why I said apparently.

As of Friday the DA has stated that no charges have been filed.

well i mean if the pledge educator was the one "forcing" them to drink and then pouring it in his mouth like some have indicated while he was passed out then yes he needs to be charged

Not doubting you were told that, but before you come in the thread saying someone's been charged with murder you're going to need some facts

Usually the pledge educator is automatically responsible for hazing incidents. Or at least they were in my chapter bylaws. Idk how that translates in legal cases.

right when it comes to inter-fraternal issues but legally lets just say he wasnt there and had no idea this was going on i'd doubt he would be charged

Not positive but when a death is involved I have a feeling those bylaws might be overruled

You're right but I knew I would be quickly corrected if that info was wrong. I do believe whoever was forcing everclear in his mouth (probably multiple people) should be charged with negligent homicide at the least.

Would be insane if so, in my experience pledge trainers were often basically compliance officers keeping the place from getting the charter pulled.
