I know they want to play this up at trial but who hasn't been shot with an airsoft gun? This seems to be a bit of sensationalism from the prosecutor.

quote:

A former LSU student accused of negligent homicide in last September's alcohol-related death of freshman fraternity pledge Max Gruver had "reckless interactions" with pledges in the weeks and days leading up to the fatal hazing, a prosecutor has alleged.

In one such newly disclosed incident, Matthew Alexander Naquin allegedly shot incoming Phi Delta Theta members with an airsoft gun less than a week before Gruver's Sept. 14, 2017, death, East Baton Rouge Parish Assistant District Attorney Morgan Johnson said in a recent court filing.

"Active members who were present observed the defendant's dangerous behavior, were upset and admonished him to stop shooting pledges," Johnson stated in the Aug. 30 filing.

Being shot with an airsoft gun is no worse than someone pinching you. Lord.

shite. My buddies used to have all out air soft wars in the field outside my apartment in Highland Village. Of course we did the stupidest thing possible and spray painted everything black. Surprised the cops never came. I had a Beretta, a pump shotgun and an Uzi that would shoot in full auto.

Simpler times then though.

My son used to use me for target practice while I was mowing.

Probably hurt less than what the Pikes did to my freshman roommate.

They had a pool at their house, blindfolded all the pledges, and threw basketballs at them while they were standing in the pool.

Well, in all fairness, he isn't the one complaining.

Our big ordeal by fire was playing tackle football against the actives on the Miss. River levee. We played uphill, they played downhill. Ours was one of the few pledge classes to ever score a touchdown.

Does he think people don't know this is an actual sport/game?

What else happened? Did they make them carry air-filled, leather covered elongated objects and then tackle them?

I heard that possibly at one point, the pledges were told to assume a prone position and them lift themselves up so that they were supported only my their outstretched arms and toes, then asked to repeat the task. Some actually experienced sore muscles in the days that followed.

Like I said, damn glad I went to school when it was still fun.

It's building a case that these actions weren't by accident. It's showing a pattern of behavior and this kid is headed to the pen
