A lot of people were kids when vaccinated, couldn't consent.

The risk is the following.

Take a vaccine that has had millions of doses given world wide with some, small immediate risk with unknown long-term risks curb the potential problems cased by the virus

Or

Chance that your immune system can fight-off this illness with an increased chance of being hospitalized or significantly increased chance death as an individual's age increases past 60.

There is risk in either side of this argument, it is just how much and of what type.

That hasn't been widespread, and wasn't done under pressure from the government.
Jacobson v. Massachusetts upheld that states can utilize compulsory vaccinations back in 1905. Ironically, the Anti-Vaccination League of America soon followed.

History repeats itself.

So why is the booster needed?

There is lots of talk of boosters when they are only allowed for 3 distinct groups at this time:

Those over 65

18-65 with a high risk of severe COVID

18-65 with high levels of occupational or institutional exposure that significant increases risk

In any case, most of those that took the vaccine without any coersion don't really see a booster as a big issue. I completely understand why people who took a vaccine but didn't really want to would not be interested in a booster. I took one of the vaccines as soon as they were open to everyone but likely would only get a booster after a year or so or if it was clear another large surge was coming but I don't fit any of the current criteria to get one anyway.

Have not read all of the comments...

But we see a pattern developing right?

1. Vaccines initially effective in preventing infections and prevent serious illness

2. After 6 months, the vaccine still effective in preventing serious illness, but breakthrough infections are increasing...

3. After 9 months post-vaccination in Israel, breakthrough infections are causing serious illnesses, and vaccinated hospitalizations are equal to unvaccinated hospitalizations.

Thus, the only reason that they are saying that the vaccines are protecting against serious CoVID illnesses and complications in the US is that the general public are still with the 6 to 9 post vaccination timelines.

Israel is having a 'holy sh__' realization that the vaccine induced immunity is waning not just to illness prevention but also to protection from serious illness. They are aggressively giving the 3rd booster.

Give us a few more months, we will see the same pattern here in the US with increase in serious CoVID illness in vaccinated people along with increase breakthrough infections.

Do colleges have flu vaccine mandates? The flu is worse than Covid for most college students. Maybe they should require flu vaccines.

Politically motivated

The fact that some people cannot separate and evaluate each aspect of the Covid situation independently and on its own merit, without a least a vague attempt at acknowledging and managing their own biases, is insane.

Your personal risk assessment on the value vs. risk of the vaccine should be 100% independent of your position evaluation on vaccine mandates which should be 100% independent of your position evaluation of more economically restrictive mandates. So many people are forming opinions that miraculously align dead nuts on with their political ideology every single step of the way.

Instead, they would prefer to pretend that this is no different than vaccines that have been used for decades.

you are exactly right. And I bet a majority REGRET taking it but will never admit it.

Stop...too many heads will blow with this kind of info!

My neighbor is a Team supervisor on one of the local Vaccine-giver teams for the local hospital system.

He has had the first two shots. He has also had the booster within the last month. He had Covid last week.
We talked about it as he was working in his garage and I was walking the pooch.

He's starting to feel that it looks like he (we, as a country specifically) have been duped by the Oligarchy residing in D.C.

Tested positive for Covid in September 2020. Analysis after donating blood in April and August of 2021 showed I was reactive for Covid antibodies.
Haven't had so much as the sniffles since festing positive despite ZERO precautions.

Do you think I'm going to take the jab? Nah!

We have not received any questions from policy makers or media on this issue in the last few weeks, so we want to avoid raising this if possible.”
