I have a 16 year old dog that is blind and deaf. I pray that one day I will wake up and he passes in the night. My heart hurts watching him during the day. The only satisfaction he has is when someone is physically touching him.

I'm sorry, Rondo. There is no love as pure in it's own way as the love you have for your dog, man. I'd be lost without mine. If I got to make the rules for a day, I'd extend their lives threefold. You'd have like two dogs your whole life.

I can't tell you how many times coming home to loving dogs has made everything better after an otherwise shitty day

Sorry for your loss. Some people dont understand, but dogs are family to some. I feel a more genuine relationship to my dogs than 95% of people interact with.

Do vets allow you to euthanize pets at home, on your own, or do they have to do it, and at the office?

Had to euthanize. She was suffering and declined rapidly.

The only really bad part imho of owning a dog, is having to say your goodbyes. Thank you for being responsible and giving love and dignity to your pup, at the hardest time.

Sorry for your loss. My wife and I lost our dog last month. It was tough, but it gets easier every week.

I've got an 11 month old lab, I am absolutely dreading that day and hopefully it isn't coming for a long long time. So sorry for your loss.

I know people that have had the vet come to their home before. Don't think they will just send you home with the drugs alone though.

So sorry for your loss. Yes, it hurts just like losing a person. My 18-year-old Rat Terrier passed away a year ago and I miss her terribly.

My wife and I lost our only child in pregnancy, so our dogs have been our children, and I'm a basket case when they pass. We lost our last one on March 4th last year, and I still think about her every day.

I'm sorry, man. It is horrible our time with our dogs has to conclude the way it does. Those good times y'all together is why this day is so hard to endure. Know that putting her down and sparing her nature's cruelty is a great kindness and an act of mercy. You did your final act of service for your animal.

i hear you man. our cat who is 10 just had a tumor removed, and we found out it is an aggressive tumor - she has a median time of 8 months - and it is hard knowing that will be my situation sooner than later.
