I played for coach Skip in the early 90’s. He was intense, but he made me better. He had a few kids go on to play in college.

I played for Skip.

He loved defense. I'll never forget how absolutely jacked he was after I came up, blew up a running back, and stripped the ball for a fumble. He must've hopped around for 5 minutes.

He also told a humorous story about making sure a kid wasn't actually hurt before making fun of them.

He taught special education kids and put a sign on the door calling the class "Astrophysics"

This would have been 10-15 years ago. Not sure if St. Ed's or Opelousas High. He may have been at both at various times.

Varnado is in Washington Parish.
